Hey man ppl, it depends which way you wanna go, low end price vs. performance, definitely AMD, but for high performance, Intel FTW! I just got a new PC with a Core 2 Quad 2.66, but I can get it stable at 3.40 Ghz on standard cooling with no volt mod. My old AMD was a single @ 2.4 and could only go to 2.6.

Granted, the Dragon platform is absolutely ridiculously good value for money, but as for matching core i7, especially when oc'ed, no WAY. The new D0 revision of i7 920 (+-R3000) clocks to just under 4GHz on stock voltages, now, from 2.66GHz that is no mean feat. But, I have always been an Intel/NVidia fanboy, the AMD I bought (see above) was a mistake.

Both the rigs are using a HD4870X2, unfortunately there were no normal clock results, only overclocked. As you can see, the Intel simply demolishes the AMD in all tests except Crysis (but who plays that?). Note the last one (CoD WaW) which is, I guess the game that most of us play the most.
